Installing Trailer Brake Controller on 2000 Toyota Tundra with Factory 7-Way
Question:
I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra that came from the factory with a towing package and a 7 pin plug. I am trying to install a electric brake controller and can not find the wiring harness to connect from the factory OEM plug on my truck to the Reese brake controller. Is there such a part if not how do I hard wire it. Thank you for your help. I have attached a picture of the factory plug on my truck.

You can certainly still install a trailer brake controller on your 2000 Toyota Tundra but this truck isn't equipped with a factory port behind the dash to allow for a plug-and-play installation. I'm not quire sure what the plug you found is used for but unfortunately it's not for a mating brake controller harness.
Since your Tundra already has the 7-factory 7-Way you will just need the Wiring Kit # 5506 to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This kit includes the needed duplex wiring that will get ran from the 7-Way up to the battery and brake controller for its power and brake output. The required circuit breakers are also included.
I have attached a short video demonstration so you can see exactly how this is done.
