Who Can Install Base Plate On 2019 Chevrolet Equinox and Base Plate Recommendation

A mechanic or trailer shop that has experience with setting up flat tow setups is the best option to install your base plate and wiring. The wiring from supplemental braking systems can sometimes be a longer process so you want to find someone that specializes in trailers. I recommend google searching truck and trailer repair and shops for places near you. You can take the installation instructions to them and they can usually quote how many hours it will take.

For a base plate on the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox, I recommend Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms part # RM-523193-5 because they eliminate the cross bar that is on most base plate setups. The Direct-connect kit is designed with direct-connect brackets to attach the tow bar to which is much more convenient. I have attached a video for your reference.

You also need tow bar wiring, I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-wire to 6-wire part # RM-15267 because it comes with all of the components you need to wire a 6-way to the front of the vehicle and the adapter you need to plug the towed vehicle into the 7-way on the back of the motor home. It is a much cleaner install compared to the other options because it comes with a bracket to hold the plug on the front of the vehicle. I have attached a video for your reference.

You will also need a supplemental braking system, tow bar and possibly a high low adapter to flat tow the Equinox. Please let me know if you do not have these components and I can make more recommendations.
