Does Using an Adapter for Towing a 5th Wheel Hitch Compromise the Ride Quality

Question:

I have read this response on your website....are your comments about a rougher ride and the continual use of an adapter true for the Anderson Ultimate Hitch as well????

Even though adapters like the Andersen Ultimate Connection # AM3200 are becoming more and more popular to use for 5th wheel towing, most adapter manufacturers will likely have a statement saying for occasional use and most trailer manufacturers say that any adapter will void the warranty. So yes, but it kind of boils down to how much you want to rely on the warranty or not. Adapters can sometimes have a rougher ride because you are typically adding more moving parts or more connection points.

Since most people who look at the Anderson products are looking for a lightweight 5th wheel hitch I highly recommend checking out the Demco Recon # DM8550043. This weighs about 120 lbs altogether but you can easily remove the head unit to make the hitch about 40 lbs lighter. I have attached a review video for you to check out.
