Parts Needed To Tow a Trailer with a 2018 Hyundai Tucson
Question:
My tuscan has a capacity of 1000 lb tow and 1500 with electric brakes. I am planning on purchasing a mini camper that will come close to 1000 lbs. Would I need some sort of stabilizing bar? Also need the electric brake feature just to be sure. Do they make them that are not independent and will work when I use the vehicle brakes?

I am not sure what you mean by stabilizer bar but there are going to be three components required for you to tow your trailer if it does not have brakes or five components required if it does. I have listed these parts for you below.
Without Brakes:
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13240
Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56348
Curt Towing Starter Kit part # C45534
With Brakes:
7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation part # ETBC7L
Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180
The Curt Echo does not require any modifications to the tow vehicle in regards to drilling for mounting or splicing into wires so this will be the best option for you if your trailer has brakes. It will work based on the deceleration of the tow vehicle but have a manual override button as well. The only other thing I recommend is a set of suspension enhancements for the rear which will help get rid of sag that can affect braking, the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4176 are my favorite and your only option at this time.
