Aftermarket Brake Controller Installed On a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Will Not Power On
Question:
My 2019 Silverado showed up yesterday. Due to a miscommunication with the dealer it did not have the factory installed brake controller so I bought an aftermarket one, wired it into the factory-supplied pigtail and installed it. I have done this a half-dozen times on other trucks with no problem. It wont work on this truck. Is there another step? A fuse to install in the fusebox or wires to connect?

If the aftermarket brake controller you have installed on your 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is not working then the first thing you will need to check is the engine bay fuse box, the #84 fuse in particular as this is for the trailer brake controller power. If the fuse is present and not blown then we need to make sure you have the correct harness.
If you have the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller then the correct harness to use is the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3064-P. Please let me know if none of the above fix your issue.
