Fastway Weight Distribution for 2011 Rockwood 2516G Tent Trailer

Question:

I am experiencing some sag when towing. The Highlander has a 5000lbs rating while the trailer has a GVWR of 3272. The dry TW rating of the trailer is 292 lbs. I do load the trailer with approx 500lbs of gear and added a second propane tank to the tongue area. I approximate that the loaded TW is about 400-450lbs. Then with a full fuel tank and about 100-200 lbs of gear in the rear of the SUV. I am curious if model FA94-00-0600 would be the best fit for me? My concern is if I am towing the trailer unloaded will it be too light and cause a adverse effect with the WD system installed.

For your situation you'll want to go with a weight distribution system rated for the tongue weight of the trailer when it's loaded like you mentioned and then when towing without the weight you'd want to disconnect the system as it won't ride well with it connected and wouldn't really be needed.

So your total loaded tongue weight will be around 650 lbs so the Fastway kit you'll want is the part # FA94-00-0800 which has a tongue weight range of 500-800 lbs. For a hitch ball you'd then want the part # EQ91-00-6080.
