Recommended Weight Distribution System with Sway Control for 2019 Flagstaff E Pro

Question:

Hello, I am looking for advice on what type WD system to use. The following are my particulars: 2006 Toyota Tundra with 4.0 liter 6 cylinder, tow capacity 5000 lbs 2019 Flagstaff E Pro, 2900 lbs dry, 3700 loaded estimated, 360 lb hitch weight I am looking for models to consider and, if possible, estimated cost for installation if I were to purchase WD and sway equipment from source separate from installer. Any help is appreciated.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

So since we know the loaded tongue weight of your setup as being 360 lbs the best system with sway control available is the Reese Strait Line part # RP66082 which has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs and features best sway control that works to fight sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.

The other system I'd recommend is the Equal-i-zer kit part # EQ37060ET as it has a similar tongue weight and in general is considered the best weight distribution system around. It's sway control isn't as advances as the Reese but overall people widely accept this is best setup aside from that. This comes with a hitch ball.

Install shouldn't be too difficult as it's not a long process either. Maybe a shop hour.
