How to Transport a Bike at the Back of a 2016 Chevy Spark EV

Question:

How much would it cost to have one fabricated and who would I ask? I'm looking for a secured option that I can use to carry my bicycle with me for the last leg of my commute. It would have to be a rear mounted rack, as I park in a parking garage. Any recommendations?

Unfortunately none of the trailer hitches we have to offer will fit your 2016 Chevy Spark EV. We do have roof rack options if what you are needing to carry is lighter. Just let me know and I can make a recommendation for you. Otherwise if you're set on a trailer hitch you will need to have one fabricated for your specific vehicle.

We do have an alternative solution to transporting your bike at the back of your Spark with a trunk mounted bike rack. The only down sides to using a trunk mount option is that you need to remove the rack to utilize your hatch and if you have a rear wiper blade you won't be able to use it. With that being said, the absolute best trunk mount bike rack is the Thule OutWay # TH45JV because it comes with bike and rack locks plus it only uses 2 rubber coated straps for installation as opposed to the other 6 strap options that tend to be a little trickier to install. For a more cost-effective option I recommend the Kuat Highline # HIT2S because it has a very sleek look and is made by a company (Kuat) that makes phenomenal products. This rack uses the 6 straps and doesn't come with locks but you can easily add them using the Security Strap # TH533 and a Cable Lock # e98891. Please note that in either case if your bike doesn't have a horizontal top tube you'll need to use an adapter bar like # UB01 to keep your bike level. Attached are some review videos for you to check out. As far as a fabricated trailer hitch goes, you may want to speak with a local trusted shop to see if they know of anyone that can do good work. We only deal with the manufacturers that make custom hitches so we don't have any contacts when it comes to fabrication.
