I am happy to get you the parts you need to tow the U-haul trailer, the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118515 is a custom fit vehicle wiring harness for your 2013 Ford Edge so it will not require splicing into the vehicle wiring. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
It sounds like you are asking if the 4-Pole Flat will connect to the U-Haul trailer, if the trailer just has lights without brakes then you need the 4-Pole flat. If the trailer has brakes then you would need a 7-Way connector on your Ford Edge and possibly a brake controller to tow the trailer depending on if the brakes are surge brakes or electric.
If the U-Haul Trailer you are renting has brakes please let me know and I can recommend more parts.
You will also need a ball mount to tow the U-Haul trailer, I recommend the etrailer.com ball mount kit part # 989900. which includes a ball mount with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop, a ball mount with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop, a 1-7/8" hitch ball and a 2" hitch ball. If you are not sure how much rise or drop you need yet or which size ball your trailer coupler needs, then this kit has your bases covered. It also comes with a nice carrying bag. I have attached a helpful article regarding figuring how much rise or drop you may need in a ball mount to tow level.
