Trailer Hitch for 2017 Toyota Sienna with Best Ground Clearance
Question:
Hi I am not mechanical, but have a friend who is who will be doing the labor, I am the purchaser and am looking for a trailer hitch to add on to my seinna. The van is really low in the first place. I only want to haul a small trailer with kayaks on it or bake rack but want potential as the car is only a 2017. I am worried about the low clearance. Please advise.

The hitch for your 2017 Toyota Sienna the hitch with the best ground clearance is the Draw Tite part # 76112 which will have 9-3/4 inches from the ground to the bottom of the hitch. The hitch tube of this is located very close to the bottom of the rear bumper so there really isn't a way to get more ground clearance than this as this is just the nature of low clearance vehicles like yours. If you check out the picture I attached of this hitch installed you'll see it doesn't really hang much lower than the rear molding of the vehicle.
One advantage this hitch has over others is that the crosstube actually hangs higher than the hitch opening which gives the vehicle slightly better clearance around elevation changes that are angled like turning into a driveway.
