Does The Ford Taurus Wagon Need To Be Lifted When Installing the Curt Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hi Guys ... Is it possible to install C12232 on a 2000 Ford Taurus Wagon with the car sitting on the ground in the driveway? In other words, does the car have to go up on a rack in order to make the installation?

It is much easier to have at least the rear of the vehicle lifted a bit to install the Curt hitch part # C12232 on the 2000 Ford Taurus Wagon because clearance will be limited when trying to get the hitch into place. Also the exhaust does need to be temporarily lowered when installing the hitch so it will probably get in the way if the vehicle is not lifted at least a little bit.
You could use a bottle jack like Powerbuilt Unijack Bottle Jack with Built-In Jack Stand - 21" Lift - 6,000 lbs part # ALL620471 to lift the vehicle enough to install the hitch.
