Recommended Underbed 5th Wheel Hitch for 2018 Ford F-350 Short Bed
Question:
I have an F350 and need to install Fifth Wheel Hitch Kit as well as new fifth wheel hitch. Id like it under bed and hidden when not in use. If I go with Andersen Hitch, do I just need the goose neck mount, or should I go with the puck solution from Reese?

The best under-bed 5th wheel hitch setup for your 2018 Ford F-350 with the 6-3/4 foot bed is the B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3400-5W along with the Installation Rails # BWGNRK1116-5W.
The Companion line of 5th wheel hitches is considered one of the best models on the market due to its extremely durable construction, 1 inch thick dual jaws that provide a superior attachment to the trailer which not only gives you peace of mind but also drastically reduces the noise and movement that most other jaw types allow, and a fully articulating head that eases hookup. The hitch can also be quickly broken down into two pieces which allows for easier removal. It has a robust 20,000 pound towing weight capacity and the 12 inches of travel on the slider will give you cab clearance during sharper turns.
The under-bed installation kit, which does maintain a clean bed when the hitch is removed, also serves as a gooseneck hitch to give you some versatility if you ever need or want to switch to a gooseneck trailer down the line.
For a wiring harness I recommend the Bargman # 50-97-410-010 will work perfectly to provide you with a 7-Way in the bed for a simple connection with the trailer.
I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these products that you can check out as well.
You can use the gooseneck mount version of the Andersen Ultimate (which we don't currently carry) with the either of the above-mentioned installation kits/gooseneck hitches from B&W depending on your model truck. With that being said I do recommend going with the Companion setup as it's just going to provide a much cleaner/safer attachment point since you aren't relying on an adapter and your overall towing experience will be much smoother on the road.
