Which Front Hitch for a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Offers the Best Ground Clearance

Question:

Could you explain why the 65078 won’t mount onto a 2017 Silverado 1500? I don’t like the other front mount hitch options because they install under the front fascia further lower ground clearance. I like how the 65078 mounts up in the license plate area.

The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65078 is for the 2500 and 3500 models whereas you have a 1500 model which has an entirely different front end. The bolt holes for the above hitch would not line up with those on your frame and there would likely be obstruction with the radiator.

The best option we have for your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31069 because it sits closest to the bumper making for the best ground clearance which you can see in the attached photo. There are no other front mount trailer hitches for your Silverado that offer more ground clearance unfortunately.
