Best Way to Reduce Noise With Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System
Question:
Can I use the Equalizer L Bracket Jackets on my 8,000 lb. Curt weight distribution system L brackets to reduce the noise? Are they compatible? If not, what would you recommend using?

Expert Reply:
The Sway Bracket Jackets for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ95-01-5150 are only designed for use with the Equal-i-zer systems such as the Equal-i-zer Weight # EQ37100ET and should not be used with your Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17499.
Friction-on-friction systems are always going to have some noise, but the best way for you to minimize the noise is to use the Equal-i-zer High-Performance Lubricant # EQ91-00-4250.
According to Curt, using this type of lubricant is the best way to minimize noise; you'll want to apply it to the inner and outer ball bearings, grease zerk and lightly coat the hitch ball with grease as well every day before you tow. I have added a link to a video review of this lubricant for you which I recommend taking a look at.
