How Would Redarc Tow Pro Elite Install in 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser

Question:

This is my third question. I now KNOW I my 2019 Land Cruiser has the tow package and is prewired under the dash for a brake controller. I want to buy a Redarc Tow Pro Elite. The only one you list says it is for Land Cruisers WITHOUT the tow wiring … but they come with tow wiring standard. Here is a photo of the instructions Toyota provides and the wiring harness they give, which plugs into a receptacle under the dash.

To install the Tow Pro Elite brake controller part # RED44FR in your 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser you will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # C59496.

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.

Your previous answer told me to buy stuff I dont think I need. How would I install the Redarc Tow Pro Elite in my 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser that Already Has a 7-pin connector in back? Is there a place under the dash to plug into already?

Sorry about that! I wasn't aware you had a 7-way so I went the wrong way with your answer. While I have a brake controller solution I think you'll like unfortunately there isn't a confirmed way to wire in a brake controller to your vehicle. That we aware of Toyota has not put a brake controller install port in their Land Cruisers for several years and there isn't an easy way to wire in a brake controller since the stoplight circuit is really hard to track down. So to bypass that headache and have a solution that is really easy to install we have the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which basically just plugs into the 7-way at the rear of your vehicle, syncs to your, phone, and is ready to tow. This is a proportional controller too which means it will activate the trailer brakes with the same intensity as your tow vehicle for a smooth and safe stop. I attached a review video for this controller for you to check out as well.

Thank you for providing the picture of the connector that came with your Land Cruiser. While we hadn't seen that particular connector before and none of our brake controller manufacturers had either we weren't aware of it...but that's all in the past now as we can for sure help you install the Tow Pro Elite # RED44FR you are wanting. It comes with a harness that has 4 blunt cut wires. The black wire of the controller harness runs to the black wire of the harness your Land Cruiser has, the red wire of the controller runs to the green/yellow wire of the vehicle, the white of the controller runs to the white/black wire of the vehicle, and blue of the controller runs to the yellow of the vehicle.
