No Relays Found When Installing Curt Wiring for Factory Tow Package on 2019 GMC Terrain

Question:

I have a 2019 GMC Terrain SLE and installed the wiring harness as instructed. However, in my fuse box, K1, K2, and K3 are empty spaces and there is no wiring to those spaces of the fusebox. Does that mean I dont need the relays? Just to further elaborate, When I insert the relays they fall out because there are no metal contacts for the prongs to connect with. Nothing but plastic holes.

The Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness # C94FR that you referenced is supposed to be used if your 2019 GMC Terrain came with the factory tow package. If those fuse locations are empty, then it sounds like you don't have the factory tow package. As of August 2023, we do not have a wiring harness that will work for you.

If your Terrain is supposed to have the tow package, then you should have metal contacts where those relays install. Since you don't, I'd reach out to your local GM dealer to see if there is anything they can do about that.

I have a 2015 GMC Terrain SLT without the tow package. There are no fuses or metal contacts for them in the rear fuse box. The plug for the wiring is up inside the driver side of the rear bumper. I purchased the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and installed it by removing the false plug on the vehicle and plugged in the T-One harness. I also purchased a tester to plug on the of the connector and tested all the lights. Everyone worked fine so I believe that all vehicles come with the factory plug, tow package or not and the fuse panel in the back is insignificant. I purchased the custom wiring which costs more and I did not need it anyway. Someone need to look into this so no more people are not confused by no tow package or with tow package. It is also a big saving in money and time!
