How to Route Wiring for Prodigy P2 Brake Controller to 7-Way on 2012 Volkswagen Touareg
Question:
I saw your prior answer to parts needed to tow with a 2012 Tdi Touareg, but Id like to get an idea how to connect that to the universal 7 pole connector. Would like to be able to use my car trailer with electric brakes.

To connect the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 to a 7-Way on your 2012 Volkswagen Touareg, like the Universal Kit # ETBC7 you simply need to route 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 from the brake controller pin under your vehicle (avoiding hot or moving parts) and up to the cab of your Touareg. Here you will connect it to the blue wire on the P2 using Butt Connectors # DW05745-5.
Please note that Additional wiring, from an authorized dealer, is necessary to correctly wire the brake control harness: (qty. 1) #1J0-972-782 housing and (qty. 2) #000-979-228 wire/terminal assemblies. Attached is a Tech Bulletin that walks you through this as well.
I have attached a simple diagram on how this is done as well as the instructions for the ETBC7 kit that you can check out.
If you have a different controller in mind please let me know and I can let you know if anything would be different.
