How To Carry a Spare Tire On the Front Of a Trailer
Question:
I want to move my 14 inch trailer spare to the top of the a-frame where there is currently a plate intended for LP gas cylinders. I want to bolt the carrier to the horizontal plate in an upright position its extended position and attach two brackets to each side of the base and upright for support. Any problem with mounting it this way? Can you provide a couple of brackets to help in this install?

I do have an option for you but I would not be able to advise on using the Folding Bumper Mounted Tire Carrier part # TR-2 outside of its intended purpose which is to be mounted to a square 4 x 4 bumper on the rear of a trailer. I also do not have any brackets for this purpose either but what I do have is an option that allows you to keep your propane tanks without having a spare tire in the way. For this, I recommend the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk part # CC-275 with the Curt Trailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier part # C31006 which can also be used for other hitch mounted accessories as well. If you are looking for something more cost effective then you can use CE Smith Offset Spare Tire Carrier part # CE27310G on the side of the a-frame or one from the list I have attached for you.
