Do You Have To Setup the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Each Time You Tow
Question:
Do you have to pair going and again coming and do you keep it plugged in the whole trip

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 will only need to be paired once for each trailer you have. If you tow a different trailer then you would have to go through the setup procedure again but that is the only time you would have to go through the setup procedure more than once. The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 must remain plugged in the entire time. It only draws milliamps of power while in sleep mode so you can leave it plugged in while the vehicle is off as well. If you were to unplug this then you would have to setup the unit again for each trailer you have as you would lose all of your saved settings.
In order to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 on your 2006 Ford Explorer you will also need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3035-P.
