Compatibility of Swagman Quad Bike Rack # S64FR with 2009 Acura MDX
Question:
I am thinking of getting a platform hitch for my 2009 Acura MDX. I have a hybrid bike that weights less then 30 ibs, and have a Mountain bike that has a listed shipping weight of 45IBS. Schwinn Sidewinder. I am looking at the two swagman racks. will either be able to work with my two bikes. I am looking for a 4 bike rack. please let me know. Thank you,

The Swagman Quad bike rack you referenced, part # S64FR would be a good choice for carrying 4 bikes on your Acura MDX. The rack has a weight capacity of 45 lbs per bike, which should accommodate your bikes nicely. Shipping weight is typically more than the actual weight. When loading the bikes on the carrier, be sure to load the heaviest bikes closest to the vehicle.
If you have not already decided on a hitch, I would recommend the Curt Class III receiver, part # 13354. This receiver hitch would work well with the Swagman bike rack you mentioned. If you were planning on using the hitch for towing purposes, you might also need the following:
Trailer wiring harness with 4-pole connector, part # 118424
Ball mount, part # D-4
2 inch trailer ball, part # 19247
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260
Pin and clip, part # PC3
Locking hitch pin, part # e98882
