Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring on 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
I installed part number C55369 on my 99 jeep grand Cherokee and my lights still don't work. I seem to be getting power at the vehicle plug but not at the 4 way connector. What gives?

Sometimes the pins on the harness can get slightly bent and create a bad connection. First disconnect the harness from the factory plugin and make sure that none of the pins look damaged or out of place - if they do, just go ahead and gently bend them back into position.
If that doesn't solve the problem you should test the wiring when connected in front of and behind the converter box; if you're not getting power behind the box this indicates that you have a faulty wiring harness, and it needs to be replaced. You can check these connections using a circuit tester similar to # PTW2993.
