Tekonsha Voyager Troubleshooting Where Display Color Alternates between Red and Green

Question:

When I apply brakes, it feels like the truck surges, and the light on the Voyager goes from red, green, red, green, just back and forth with the brakes applied. What is wrong?

Sounds like your Tekonsha Voyager part # 39510 isn't level enough for it's inertia sensor to be able to actuate your brakes properly. First thing to check is to make sure it's sitting perfectly level and facing the rear of your vehicle. Also make sure the controller is angled properly. See two attached pictures.

Next check to make sure there's no corrosion on your trailer connector pins as it's possible you are having an intermittent connection there which is causing the controller to connect and disconnect. Some sandpaper will take care of that issue easily as well.
