Does Draw Tite Hitch for 2019 Chevy Bolt Cause Sagging and Swaying with Bike Rack

Question:

There has been some discussion on the Chevy Bolt Forum about the drawtite hitch when used with a bike rack. The bike racks are reported as swaying left and right and up and down around while driving. There was a video and it seemed quite pronounced. After looking again at how the at how the eco hitch and the draw- tite are installed, the eco hitch seems more secure and but with a more involved installation. I have used drawtite before with no problems and purchased one for my Bolt based on previous usage and ease of installation for this hitch. I am having second thoughts now and wondered if you have any insights. I have not yet installed the drawtite that I have purchased from you. Also, I plan on using this only with a bike rack. Thank you,

We've sold quite a few of the Draw Tite hitches part # 24956 that fit your 2019 Chevy Bolt EV and we've not had the feedback like what you described. I'd be curious to know what bike racks were being used and the weight of the bikes as well. I wouldn't be shocked if the people who had sagging and swaying were overloading the rack/hitch.

Its also a good idea to use a bike rack that has an anti-rattle feature to prevent movement of the rack in the hitch tube.
