Availability of D-Ring Mounts for Hercules Tow Bar

Question:

I have a readybreak Hercules tow bar. I’m trying to flat tow a wrangler with a tow rated after market bumper’s 1” d-ring mounts. Is there a clevis adapter that will work? I’ve tried the Roadmaster RM-035-1. It fits the d-ring nicely, but won’t allow the tow bar arm to swing freely. Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.

We do not currently have any D-ring bumper mounts available that are compatible with your existing Hercules Tow Bar. Your only option will be to either install a standard base plate kit on your Jeep or go with a different tow bar that will work with the Roadmaster # RM-035-1 Adapter.

If you decide to go with a new tow bar I highly recommend the Roadmaster Falcon All-Terrain # RM-522 that features a non-binding design for an easy release even when you're on unlevel ground, extra-long telescoping arms that will help with maneuvering the Jeep around, and a self-aligning mechanism that allows you to simply hook up and drive forward to lock the arms into place.

If you would rather go with a standard base plate kit I will just need the model year of your Wrangler and I will be happy to make a specific recommendation.
