Trailer Brakes Lock Up When Trailer Is Connected To Tow Vehicle

All light work now but When trailor is pluged in brakes are locked up. Why????

Expert Reply:
The most common cause of the trailer brakes locking up when the trailer is connected is because the 12 volt power and brake output pins on the trailer connector are either switched or bleeding into one another. I would first check that the wires are not frayed and touching and that there is no corrosion inside the trailer connectors. If the above is okay then you will need to check which pins you have the above circuits on inside your trailer connector and then reorder using the attached photo or just so that they match.
