Towing Capacity of 2018 Ram 2500 with OEM Rail Kit

We have a 2018 Ram 2500, with a max towing capacity of 17,160 lbs and a max payload capacity of 2,380 lbs. The bed has a fifth wheel prep kit installed. What is the max hitch weight we can pull?

Payload capacity isn't directly related to the pin weight capacity of an in-bed hitch setup as the payload is more the capacity of the truck bed which is made of sheet metal and the in-bed hitch connects directly to the frame and not the bed at all.

So as long as the fifth wheel hitch you plan to tow weighs less than 17,160 lbs you will be totally fine.
