Troubleshooting LED Lighting on Tow Bar and Wiring Kit for Towing a 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited

Question:

Hello, I am using this tow bar on a 2018 Winnebago View. When the wiring harness is plugged in to the 7 pin connector the led strip light flashes dimly even when the RV is turned off and disconnected from the toad. I am also using the stay in play duo brake system on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU. I used the RM-154 wiring for the brake lights and wired it per your video on the same vehicle. When driving the rear drivers side brake/turn signal light comes on intermittently sometimes flickering and sometimes stays on for a long time which causes the brakes to activate when driving on a incline or decline. Can you give me a suggestion on what to look for? I have looked over all of the wiring and dont see any obvious problems. All I can think of is a problem with the wiring in the inertia box but I dont know how to test it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Since your Nighthawk All Terrain # RM-677 runs off of the running lights and you are having issues with the driver's side stop/turn function with the Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 installed on your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited I recommend checking your connectors and grounds to make sure they are secure and that there aren't any places where there might be debris or corrosion.

As far as the Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit goes you may want to double check that you installed it using the correct configuration. From what I can tell it looks like your 2018 Winnebago View has a separate lighting configuration so you need to install the Converter # RM-732 on your motorhome side of things like you see in the attached photo. You will want to verify that your Winnebago View does have separate lighting functions prior to changing anything though.

If you are still having problems let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.

For your Chevy Avalanche I recommend the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # 3154-1, the Falcon BlackHawk Tow Bar # RM-422 with Safety Cables # RM-653, the Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267, and the Brake Buddy Select # HM39524.
