Radiator Fan for 1966 Chevy Pickup Truck
Question:
Hi My pick up is running with a LT 350 with around 350 to 375 hp. 700r4 transmission with a transmission cooler and a/c cooler on the front side of the radiator. The radiator measures 25inch x 17inch coming up short on the width by 5/8 and 2 7/8inch too tall on the Height of the kit. I have just enough clearance to accommodate the 4inch depth. The engine is currently running too hot during stop and go traffic. It also quickly overheats when the a/c is on. The engine runs cool at highway speeds. The entire build is brand new with about 2000 miles on it. Can you recommend a work around for the shortfall and excess for mounting the unit?

For your 1966 Chevy Pickup I recommend taking a look at a smaller dual radiator fan like the Derale # D16812 that measures 23-3/4 inches wide, 11-1/2 inches tall, and 3 inches deep. This is going to match up much better to the mounting space you have available but its 2 high-powered electric fan assemblies will still do a great job of keeping the engine temperatures down when your truck is at a stop.
Two high-amperage relay harnesses and all the necessary hardware is included.
You could potential trim the shroud for the larger Derale # D66825 that you were looking at to fit your truck but I still can't guarantee that it will fit well even when doing so.
