Is Discolored Ground Pin on 7-Way Causing Trailer Light Problems
Question:
I’m trying to tow my boat but I can’t get my lights to work I notices that on the connections to the truck there is some discoloring on the negative prong would that be causing my issues??

The discolored pin on the photo you sent is the ground pin on 2013 Chevy Avalanche and that certainly could be what is causing the problem. What I recommend doing is unplugging it from your truck and using some sand paper to try and remove it.
If for some reason that does not work you can replace your socket with the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket # HM40975 which is a replacement for the factory 7-way on your '13 Avalanche.
Either way you go, I highly recommend using Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors # 11755 to help prevent any type of corrosion in your connector; using it will increase the connector's durability and extend its lifespan.
