What Size Brake Line Fits the Titan BrakeRite EHB and is an Adapter Needed for 2012 Chevy Silverado
Question:
vehicle: Chevrolet Silverado Before ordering a Titan T4813102 EHB to replace my Titan Type 10 surge brake actuator, I need to know that my trailers existing disk brakes will be compatible at the hydraulic interface. Please advise. Also, upon removing Titans bolt-on surge brake actuator Ill need Titans T4853100 Ball coupler. Please confirm. Finnaly I need to know that my 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500HD integrated brake controller will operate the above EHB w/o requiring an adaptor.

All BrakeRites, including the EHB, # T4813102, have a 1/8-27 inch NPTF port located on the lower front of the housing and a straight 1/8-27 inch NPTF Male by # 3 Female Inverted Tube seat (3/4-24 inch NPTF) adapter. Provided your brake lines use these sizes you will be able to simply attach the line to the EHB unit. Otherwise, there are adapters you can use that can be obtained at local auto part stores.
Since you already have disc brakes on your trailer, they should work just fine with the EHB system.
You will not necessarily have to change couplers but going to a straight tongue coupler like # T4853100 would be ideal. If the existing actuator can be locked (so it cannot move in and out) then you can still use it. But if it is bolted on and you can remove it easily then I do recommend a regular coupler.
On 2006.5 and up models of the Chevy Silverado with integrated brake controller, you will need to add the EHB adapter, # T4845900, so the # T4813102 system will work properly. The other option is to install an after market controller that is compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes, like the P2, # 90885, and use it instead of the factory controller.
I have included a link to the installation details for the BrakeRite and a video for the coupler for you to view.
