Viking Solutions 300 lbs. Capacity SwiveLift Steel Hitch-Mounted Lift

Question:

It states it has 20 inches of travel. Where is the travel measured from?

The Viking Solutions SwiveLift, part # 310-VSL001, actually travels 30 inches from its lowest point to its highest point.

The platform can lower up to 15 inches below the bottom of the horizontal receiver tube and then raise up to 30 inches above that. It's designed to basically hit the ground on the bottom and come up to about tailgate level at the top.

From the description of dimensions appears this will not work on my 2020 RAM 1500 pickup. The 15 inches to ground is OK but only going up 30 inches from that lowest point will mean it will not swivel over the top of the tailgate. The top of the platform would be slightly below tailgate level meaning it will not clear. Is this really designed so it will not work on a RAM 1500 pickup?

If 15" above the hitch receiver on your Ram doesn't put the platform over the tailgate then it's probably not the best option. Not all trucks are the same height so it's hard to make something that works with everything - is your Ram lifted at all or is it completely stock?

@ChrisR Chris, thanks for responding. My truck is completely stock, so this lift will not work on a stock, 2020, 1500 RAM.

@MartyD I just installed and tested on a 2014 Ram 1500 Bighorn and it clears perfectly. Hope this helps.
