Troubleshooting T-Connector C55364 Causing Lights to Dim on 2004 Chrysler 300M
Question:
I used this item on my 2004 Chrysler 300M. Its a simple setup making for a simple install of the harness. I drilled a hole in the sheet metal behind my left tail light assembly, and removed all the paint from around the hole to ensure a good connection for the ground. After getting the harness installed, I checked the lights on my car. My trailer is not hooked up to the car or wiring. I now have a problem with my lights. The rear drivers side turn signal light is now dim when blinking, and my tail lights are pulsing from bright to dim with the turn signal light. I have unplugged the trailer light harness from my wiring system and plugged the tail lights back into the factory plugs, and now all my lights are working properly, as they did before I installed the trailer light harness. Im thinking I got a defective harness. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks,

If the Curt T-Connector # C55364 is making the lights on your 2004 Chrysler 300M go dim without a trailer hooked up and you have installed everything (including the ground) according to the instructions, then I would say you have a defective harness as well. Before purchasing a new unit (or claiming the warranty on this as it comes with a 1-year limited warranty), I recommend just double checking your ground connection as well as the OEM connectors on your vehicle. If any of those connectors has some corrosion, then it could be that they work well together but don't work well with the T-Connector. If everything looks good, then I'd look into getting the wiring replaced.
