Recommended Replacement 215/75R14 Tires on Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a tandem trailer for a boat that weighs about 7,500. I want to replace tires with good reliable ones to haul the boat at 70 mph. What would you recommend? Right now it has st215 75R14 tires

I recommend using the Kenda Karrier ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10229. The Karrier is rated for 1,870 lbs at 50 psi (which means 7,480 lbs for 4 tires). This will not quite be enough for your 7500. We need to go up to a higher load range.

I would suggest the slightly smaller tire with a higher load range in the Goodyear Endurance ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D Item # 724864519. This tire has a capacity of 2,040 lbs at 65 psi and a max speed rating of 87 mph so you don't have to worry about overheating the tires on the highway. Four of these tires would yield a total capacity of 8,160 lbs. This setup would work great for your tandem trailer and have more than enough weight capacity. Attached is a review video for you to check out.
