Can Single Axle of Timbren Axle Less Kit # TASR5200S03 be Used on Trailer that Weighs 3,400 lbs
Question:
I’m looking to build a deck over trailer to haul my sxs and quads. Want to build it at 7x15. Would a single pair of these be ok for a trailer that long. My plan is the trailer will weigh roughly 1200-1500 pounds, the sxs weight 1000 pounds and the quad weighs 900. I want the wheels to be under the deck hence the deck over design. Would these spindles be good or should I do 4 of them? I will be building this trailer from scratch.

Yes, a single axle of the Timbren kit part # TASR5200S03 that you referenced would work great on your trailer that is 15 feet long. This is a 5,200 lb axle so your trailer weighing a total of 3,400 lb when loaded wouldn't be a problem at all. There are some benefits to going to a tandem axle trailer as you get a quite a bit more stability in a tire blow out situation but for as lightweight as your trailer would be you'd be totally fine with a single axle Timbren setup.
To add brakes to this you'd just need the hub/drums part # 8-201-5UC3-EZ for both sides of the axle and then brake assemblies # 23-464-465 would have you covered for both sides of the trailer.
I also attached a help article on adding electric brakes to a trailer for you to check out as well.
