Towing a rv. Since I have a tie package on my 2015 jeep Cherokee limited edition do I need the break controler installed?

If your trailer has electric brakes and you want to be able to use them - which is an extremely good idea for both safety and to keep the chassis of the Jeep and trailer in good shape - then you will need to get a brake controller.
The good news is if you have the factory tow package on your 2015 Jeep Cherokee with a factory 7-way, all you need is the brake controller itself and possibly an adapter depending on the controller.
The best option is the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 because it is so simple to use. This controller only requires a smartphone for you to use; you literally just plug it into your Jeep's 7-way, use the app to set it up and you're done.
Another option to check out is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 which would require the use of the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers # 3014-P. The P3 is a very reliable unit and also has a bright LED display which makes it very popular.
If you are looking for just the basics to control your trailer brakes a cost-effective but still very solid option is the Brake EVN # TK63VR which will also require the Wiring Adapter # 3014-P.
I've added links to video reviews of each brake controller for you to take a look at.
