Determining if Yakima DoubleDown Ace Will Fit 2009 Toyota RAV4 and Clear Rear Spare
Question:
Thank you for the quick reply. I actually have an appointment to install the Draw Tite hitch # 75235 on the 15th. I was hoping to order a bike rack so I can have it ready and use right away. to be on the safe side I have to wait until after installation. I am trying to find the best fit for my 2009 RAV4 which tilt all the way down to allow opening of the back door. which one would you recommend ( need a 4 bike rack).

What you can do to determine if the Yakima DoubleDown Ace # Y02451 will clear the rear spare of your 2009 Toyota Rav4 is take one measurement. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on your rear spare. If that distance is less than 9 inches this rack will fit and easily clear as it has 9 inches from the center of it's hitch pin hole to the back of the upright mast of the rack.
You should be good though since when we installed the Curt hitch part # e98864 on a similar RAV4 the distance was 7 inches so you should have two inches of clearance.
