Will a Reese 20K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit In Place of a Reese 16K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch

Question:

Im looking at upgrading to a larger trailer 16,400 GVW, but I have a 16,000 Reese hitch. Can I use the same mounting kit that is currently installed in my truck to install the RP30081 hitch? Also, what is the max hitch weight of the RP30081?

The Reese 20K hitch, # RP30928, will fit in the same rails and you will not need to upgrade them for the heavier trailer you plan to tow. The rails in this case have the same weight carrying capacity as your truck. Make sure that you stay within the towing capacities of your truck.

The Reese 20K hitch has a gross trailer weight capacity of 20,000 pounds and a pin weight capacity of 5,000 pounds.
