Options for Replacing Leaf Springs of Trailer that Have Inner Bushing Diameter of 1/2 inch

Question:

I have an old boat trailer 1/2 inch ID by 1 3/4 mounts for leaf springs. I want to replace the leaf springs but the nylon bushings are 9/16 inch ID by 1 3/4. What are the best option to get around this problem? Would you recommend replacing the bushings with 1/2 inch ID ones or drilling the mounting holes to 9/16 inch? Thank you

The standard trailer leaf spring bushing dimension is 1-3/4 inches wide with an inner diameter of 9/16 inch. Easiest solution would be to replace the springs and mounting bolts to allow you to keep the bushing in the new springs but if you wanted to replace the bushings with new ones the part # TRBU11506 would be what you'd need. This will give you the correct bushing for your springs to fit your old bolts that are 1/2 inch diameter.

If your hangers have hole diameters of 1/2 inch they would need to be drilled out to 9/16 inch.
