Connecting Motorcycle with 6-Way Flat to Trailer with 4-Way Connector

Question:

I bought this used bike already wired with a 6-pin flat female connection for a trailer. Need to find an adapter to convert it to a 4 pin flat. Any advice?

Motorcycle trailer wiring typically has separate circuits for the stop lights and turn signals while trailer wiring will have these circuits combined. You can verify this by testing the pins on the 6-Way with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 while somebody runs through the lighting functions.

If this is the case, then you will need to use a converter # RM-732 on the motorcycle wiring to convert the lighting functions before the connector. A 6-Way flat is not a standard connector and there isn't an adapter available to convert it to a 4-Way on the trailer. This just means that your only option will be to simply cut off the connector and splice the wiring (after the converter) to a new 4-Way like # HM48035.
