Can Fastway Weight Distribution System Install on Trailer with Sheet Metal On Top of Frame
Question:
My horse trailers tongue has a flat, sheet metal plate covering the area between the frame rails. The rails themselves are rectangular tubes. Can the Fastway e2 8K hitch mount to that tongue? How? Must I drill through the frame rails to mount the top bolt? Must I cut the sheet metal plate to make room for the inner mounting bracket? As for the photo, yes, I have a new breakaway battery waiting to be installed.

The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA94-00-0800 that you referenced can be used on your trailer but you'll have to bolt the L-brackets of the kit directly to the sides of the frame since you have sheet metal that goes over the top of the rails. Good news is you don't have to cut the sheet metal.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
