Will the Pollak 7 and 4-Pole Trailer Connector HM40975-11933 Work on a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Im going to buy the hitch #75699 . However, Im confused about which wiring set-up to get. My vehicle doesnt have the factory tow-package which is why Im buying a hitch. When you guys say factory tow-packageinch are you referring to the presence of a wiring harness running back to the rear bumper? My vehicle does have the wiring harness. So I was thinking that I should get part number HM40975-11933 and it would plug into my existing harness. Is this correct? Please advise. Thank you.

For starters, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75699 is an excellent choice for your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, mostly because of its concealed look. In regards to trailer wiring, it can be a bit tricky tying to determine if you have the factory tow package or what that consists of. Therefore, to simplify the process we will want to just take a look under your rear bumper. If you have the plug which is shown in the attach photo then you can use the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket part # HM40975-11933 but if not you would need to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118727. If you don't have the plug but still need a 7-way then you would also need to add the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation part # ETBC7L.
If you also need a brake controller, the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 is the least invasion option and it is controlled by your phone so it is super easy to use.
