Towing a Trailer with a 6-Pole Trailer Connector with a Vehicle That has a 4-Way Connector
Question:
I have a 4 way flat and need to tow a trailer with a 6 pole round. Im looking at: Adapter 6-Pole Round to 4-Flat with Cover Item # 47305B It appears that it has a matching 4 way flat to the one coming from my vehicle and I would need simple adapter between the two. One with 3 female and one male plug on each side. I dont see anything on your site. Suggestions?

Actually you need part # 37175. It plugs into your vehicle's existing 4-way and gives you a 6-way round. There are 3 extra wires; blue for trailer brakes, red for an auxiliary (usually 12 volt power), and a white for ground. The white wire needs to be grounded to the vehicle's frame from the connector to function. The other two can be capped off if you're not going to be use them.
If you do need the other two wires the blue is run to the vehicle's cab and connected to the blue wire on a brake controller and the red is run to the vehicle's battery and connected to the positive post through a 40 amp circuit breaker like part # 9510.
The # 47305B adapter is actually the opposite of what you need. It's for towing a trailer with a 4-way using a vehicle that has a 6-way. You need an adapter to tow a trailer with a 6-way using a vehicle that has a 4-way.
