Can Class II Hitch Use Hitch Adapter to Carry 4 Bike Rack

Question:

I am looking to use this with the following hitch on my 2001 Subaru Forester: Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4inch Item # C12038. Since the Hitch Receiver shows a tongue weight of 350 lbs and the specs for this adapter indicate a maximum tongue weight of 350 lbs I am assuming there is no impact. However I have noticed that some adapters mention that with use I would need to reduce allowable tongue weight by half. I need an adapter that can maintain the 350 lbs tongue weight rating so as to use with my Yakima HoldUp 4 bike carrier. Thank you for your help.

All of the hitch adapters like the # HT5R reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. This is due to the additional length and movement added.

The best solution we have is a 4 bike rack that will fit your hitch directly like the Thule Hitching Post part # TH934XTR which I attached a review video for.
