Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2015 Ford Explorer with Raised Side Rails

Question:

I have a 2015 Ford explorer xlt with a double/ extended moonroof. I am wanting to haul two kayaks. Will this rack work? I have not purchased a kayak carrier yet either so if you have recommendations in that regard that would be helpful also.

For your 2015 Ford Explorer with raised roof rails the Malone Roof Rack part # MPG216 that you referenced is a confirmed fit and would work great as a base for a kayak carrier. This is a confirmed fit and installs easily so I recommend it for you.

For a kayak carrier the J-style carriers are the easier to install racks so I would go with the Yakima JayLow part # Y04073 which is padded, can fold down when not in use, and installs easily. I attached a review video for more info on it as well.
