Recommended Towing Mirrors for 2014 Ford Expedition with Power Folding Mirrors

Question:

I have a 2014 Ford Expedition with power fold mirrors. What do you have that will properly fit this application? Also, this vehicle is the standard size Ford Expedition 4X4 with the factory HD Towing package. Trailer is a 20foot all aluminum slant V-nose with 10K Dexter spring axels upgrade. Curb Weight on trailer is 2,350 lbs. The vehicle I am towing weighs 3,200 lbs. What weight distribution / anti sway hitch would you recommend for a 20foot aluminum car hauler? I want to be as secure as possible at interstate speeds. Do I even need one? New to the trailer ownership and towing a enclosed trailer. Any help will be appreciated. Thank You!!

For your 2014 Ford Expedition with the power folding mirrors I recommend the K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors # KS3990. I like these mirrors a lot because of the ratcheting strap system they use to create a really secure and snug fit to the factory mirror housing. This works to eliminate a lot of the vibration and movement during travel that is present on most alternative options. Because these simply attach to the factory mirror housing they won't interfere with the power folding feature.

I have attached a short video review that you can check out as well. There are not any custom-fit towing mirrors available for your Expedition.

Any time a trailer's weight is more than half of the tow vehicle's weight you are going to get a lot of benefit out of a weight distribution system. Since the 2,350 curb/empty weight of your trailer meets this requirement I do recommend going with a weight distribution system if possible. You will want to first contact the trailer manufacturer though to see if one can be used as a lot of times the frame on an aluminum trailer isn't strong enough to withstand the added tension that one creates.

When picking out the correct system you will need to determine what your total tongue weight will be. This includes the loaded tongue weight of your trailer along with any added cargo weight you have coming from behind the rear axle of your Expedition. Ideally this number will fall comfortably within the operating range for the system you choose. If you can tell me the trailer's loaded tongue weight or its GVWR (the most it will weigh when fully loaded) I will be happy make a specific recommendation.

I have attached a couple great articles on this subject that you can look through as well.
