Locating Blue Brake Output Wire When Installing Brake Controller on 2017 Ford Explorer w/ 4-Way

Question:

My explorer did not come with a tow package. Im putting a 7 way plug on. I got the factory 4 way plug in play which plugged in to the wiring lum in the back, and plugs right into the new 7 way, so trailer lights work now through the 7 way. The brake controller plugs in just fine under the dash. And powers on. But, I cant find the blue wire to wire into the 7 way. I see the blue wire under the dash, it goes into a lum. But I cant find if or where it comes out in the back. Do you know where this blue wire is, or ends up?

Based on my research if your 2017 Ford Explorer is only equipped with the factory 4-Way connector the blue brake output wire is not ran all the way to the 7-Way. I wasn't able to find exactly where this circuit stops on the vehicle but typically in cases like these the wire can be pretty difficult to find and it's usually easier just to run a new wire from the brake controller harness to the 7-Way. You will want to use 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1, which is sold by the foot.

The brake output wire will connect to the pin at the 7 o'clock position at the back of the vehicle's 7-Way (see attached image).
