Compatibility of TracRac from 2001 Ford Ranger on 2008 Toyota Tacoma

Question:

reusing tracrac from 2001 ranger on a 2008 Tacoma I traded my 2001 Ranger for a 2008 Tacoma and want to reuse my TracRac ladder racks. The Tacoma has a full bed liner with protectors that cover the pick-up sides and top of the bed rails. Is there any adapter kit available for this installation? Or do I have to remove the bed liner and rail covers, install the TracRac rack and then cut out the bed liner and bed rail protestors around the upright base and clamp parts in order to reinstall them?

Expert Reply:

The Thule TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Fixed Mount - 800 lbs - Silver # TH27000XT from your 2001 Ranger can be used on your 2008 Toyota Tacoma when you use the Toyota Tacoma Mount Kit for Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack - 2005 to 2015 # TH34000 which lets you mount the rack to the side rails of your Tacoma. You may also need the replacement bolts # TA7521446001. You likely will need to remove your rail covers but unless the bed liner interferes with the interior bed rail, you won't have issue there.
