Does Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Kit # 118767 Connect Directly to Vehicle Battery and will that Drain It
Question:
The video says the black ModuLiteinch box is wired to the battery. Does that mean DIRECTLY to the positive terminal? And if so, why doesnt it drain the battery?

Expert Reply:
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat # 118767 that you referenced does connect directly to the vehicle vehicle's positive battery post. This allows the trailer taillights to draw power directly from the vehicle battery and not from the vehicle taillight circuits. As long as the trailer lighting isn't active this will not drain the battery. Connections to a battery do not drain it. There has to be an amperage draw for the battery to drain in any way. Similar to how you don't have to disconnect your vehicle battery every time you park the vehicle.
