Does Weight Distribution Spring Bar Tension Need to be Reset When Changing to New Tow Vehicle
Question:
I recently upgraded my tow vehicle to a 2019 F350 SuperDuty DRW FX4. It is considerably higher than my previous vehicle, 1994 C2500 single wheel drive. How can I determine the head angle for this set up, or will it make much of a difference since I now have much more truck than needed for my trailer?

Congrats on the new truck!! Any time you change the tow vehicle or trailer when using a weight distribution system you have to do an initial setup for the system. This means you'll be setting the angle of the head to give you the correct amount of spring bar tension for the setup. I can't tell you exactly what angle you'll need but if you need a taller shank to allow the system to be used on a taller vehicle and allow the trailer to be level you'd want the Curt part # C17124 which can do a 9 inch drop.
