Installing Load Resistors to Prevent Hyperflashing on Towed 2014 Smart fortwo with LED Tail Lights
Question:
My 2014 Smart is wired as a tow vehicle and has 2 diodes for the rear stop/turn signals. I want to convert the rear stop/turn signal lights to LEDs and I have purchased load resistors for this in addition to the LED bulbs. Do I splice the load resistors into the single wire output of the load resistor that goes to the bulb wire?

Helpful Expert Reply:
To correct hyper flashing with replacement LED brake/turn lights on your 2014 Smart fortwo you will splice a load resistor like the Putco # DI34ZR to the input power wire going to the bulb after the diode and then ground the other end. I have attached a diagram to assist.
